NexMath ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered math tutoring application. We believe in being straightforward about what data we collect, why we collect it, and how long we keep it. This policy explains all of that.
When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple-provided user identifier and email address (which may be a private relay address if you choose to hide your email). We do not receive your Apple ID password or any other Apple account details. If you use the app without signing in, we create an anonymous session with no personally identifiable information.
Messages you send (text and images) are transmitted to Anthropic's Claude AI service for processing. Your conversation history is stored on our servers (Google Firebase Firestore) so that you can continue conversations across sessions. Each conversation is associated with your user account to ensure only you can access your conversations.
We track which math topics you study, how many questions you ask, and your quiz and exam scores. This data is stored in Firebase Firestore and used to display your progress within the app. It is associated with your user account.
We track the number of messages and image uploads you send each month to enforce subscription limits. These counts are stored in Firebase Firestore and reset at the beginning of each calendar month.
If you subscribe, your App Store transaction receipt is sent to our server solely to verify your subscription status. We do not receive, process, or store your payment card details, billing address, or other financial information. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple.
If you submit feedback through the app's Contact & Feedback form, we store your message, the category you selected (bug report, feedback, or question), your app version, and device model. This data is stored in Firebase Firestore and associated with your user account. It is used solely to improve the app and respond to your inquiry. Feedback data is deleted when you delete your account.
The app stores chat history, bookmarks, and your preferences (such as notification settings and onboarding state) locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you initiate a conversation with our server.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the tutoring service described above.
We use the following third-party services to operate NexMath:
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
You can delete your account at any time from the app's Settings screen under Account. When you delete your account:
You can also request data deletion or a copy of your data by emailing us at support@nexmath.app.
All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Authentication is handled by Firebase Auth using industry-standard protocols. Server-side data is stored in Google Cloud's secured infrastructure with access restricted to our application.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
NexMath is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@nexmath.app.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
